Welcome

My name is Elsbeth Williams and I am a Clarinetist and Music Teacher in Denver, CO.

I perform as a freelance musician throughout the Colorado Front Range and I am excited to announce that I will be joining the Denver Philharmonic Orchestra for the 2024/2025 season as their "Utility Clarinetist." I am also very happy to be starting my second season with the Evergreen Chamber Orchestra as Principal Clarinetist! Finally, I am pleased to be playing with the Symphony of the Rockies (previously the Arapahoe Philharmonic) for my 10th season as 2nd Clarinetist/Eb Clarinetist.

One of my favorite pastimes is playing chamber music and I am always happy to collaborate on new projects with fellow musicians and artists. You can check out one of my recent projects Colour Spectrum via Mad Ducks Records and now available on YouTube! Another extra special project from last season was performing three new operettas -
Miracles, Sacred Clown, and Mercy Killing - at the Teton Valley Home-Grown Fall Arts Festival with the Colorado Chamber Orchestra and Opera

I launched my Clarinet Studio in 2011. It has grown over the past 13 years because I truly love working with people and sharing my love for the clarinet, bass clarinet, and all the amazing rep that we get to play! I am the Practicing Artist at Denver School of the Arts, where I coach the clarinet sections and stay busy teaching private lessons during the week.

Teaching is constantly engaging and interesting to me; it makes me a better musician, and it's fun to see those break-through moments for my students. If you are interested in lessons, I recommend starting to play the clarinet at age eight, or older. Regardless of when you start lessons, I teach from beginning to advanced levels, school-age to retirees.

Please feel free to
contact me if you are looking for a clarinetist to play for a special event, sub for a rehearsal or concert, you'd like to collaborate on a new project or recording endeavor, or you are interested in private lessons.

I look forward to working with you!

Philosophy

I believe that artists are always learning something new. We become passionate about our craft (whether it's music or something else)  because it captures our hearts and minds. New lessons emerge at every turn and when we show up, we get the chance to bring something new to life. Remember, art is an act of expression and creation! Art helps us feel more human, more truthful, more connected to beauty, and hopefully more grateful for who we are and what we can do. It's worth it! So, don't be afraid to invest your heart and your time and your hard work. Whatever your age, dedicate yourself to learning new ideas and practicing new skills. Be passionate about your craft and imagine what you can create!      ~ Elsbeth Williams

"Elsbeth is an amazing clarinet teacher who truly cares about her students. Her enthusiasm and passion for teaching shows through in every lesson. You'll find that she is patient, kind, flexible, fun, and extremely talented. She has a special way of connecting with students and offers a good balance of praise and correction. We have seen tremendous growth in our clarinet player and would highly recommend Elsbeth!"

"Lessons have helped me a lot through the year. I will gladly take lessons next school year for sure."

"Great experience! Very happy with the lessons."

"I really want to thank you for all that you've done as a teacher for me for the past four years. I'm really happy with where I am in terms of my musicianship, and there is absolutely no way I could have been in this position without your help. I've also learned a lot even beyond playing the clarinet just by studying music under your guidance, whether it be culture, interpretation and expression, motivation, or even just outright confidence; I'm really grateful for you helping me learn a lot about myself! You have been a wonderful mentor and I'm really glad to have worked in the studio for the past four years. I'll be sure to keep you in mind if I need a few lessons on college music, or if I meet anyone who needs a teacher."
